24-Hour Comics in Montpelier, Vt.

September 23, 2010



Trees & Hills has teamed up with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, Vt. to host the annual 24-Hour Comic challenge starting on Saturday, Oct. 2nd. The library will stay open all night for cartoonists as they try to draw a 24-page comic in 24 hours. Hope to see you there!

PLAY comic anthology released

April 20, 2010


Trees & Hills comics released our seventh anthology this spring.

PLAY features 64 pages of comics from nearly 20 creators living in VT, NH and western MA. The stories are all themed around the imagination, fantasy, make-believe and the importance of, well, just playing around!

The comic sells for $5 and features a 5-page story called "We're All Still Here" that I wrote and Matthew Reidsma illustrated.

About Me


Daniel W. Barlow Daniel Barlow is a writer and journalist living in Montpelier, Vt. The co-founder of two comic organizations - Trees & Hills and Offshore Comix - Barlow has published twice-annual anthologies featuring northern New England cartoonists since 2006. Recent books include 2009's SHELTER, about housing issues, and 2008's SEEDS, which was featured in ReadyMade Magazine's Holiday Gift Guide. When he's not making comics, he writes for two local newspapers about state politics.
