New England Comic Group Looking for Erotic Comic Contributions
Offshore Comix is a new organization dedicated to comics for adults
March 23, 2009
A new New England comic organization is looking for your positive and sexy erotic comics for an anthology to be published in Fall 2009.
Offshore Comix is a collective of cartoonists and comic creators from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont interested in exploring comic and cartoons for mature adults.
The group plans to kick off a series of annual comic anthologies with the release of an as-of-yet untitled erotic comic anthology, which will be released at the Small Press Expo show in Bethesda, Maryland in September 2009.
Offshore Comix is not just looking for any comic sex stories – they want stories that are positive, fun and uplifting (as well as titillating!).
“We’re looking for happy and positive erotic comics that have an eye toward educating,” explained Anne Thalheimer, a Massachusetts cartoonist and one of the founders of the group. “We’re not looking for anything that could cause harm, just light and fun erotic comics that any adult can enjoy.”
For more information, please send an e-mail to crew@offshorecomix.com. The group’s Web site, www.offshorecomix.com, is expected to launch this spring.
Other founders of Offshore Comix include New Hampshire cartoonist Colin Tedford and Vermont writer Daniel Barlow.
Important contributing details:
Deadline for contributing to the erotic anthology is Aug. 1.
Size of the comic will be 5.5 x 8.5 inches, so please draw to those proportions. Submissions should be between 1-6 pages long, although we can make some exceptions. Files should be 300 dpi grayscale or 600 dpi B&W tif.
Comics can be sent to crew@offshorecomix.com
Please also send a sentence or two about yourself (with website or other contact info if you like) for the bio section of the anthology.
Contributors will receive one copy of the comic per page of their work in the anthology and can buy additional copies from Offshore Comix at half off cover price. All sales from the anthology will go directly to future community publishing plans of New England comic organizations.
The founders of Offshore Comix reserve the right to reject a contribution if it does not fit the criteria of the anthology.
